Why You May Have Been Contacted
NEK Broadband and CVFiber (doing business as NEKCV) are working to ensure that homes and businesses throughout our region are accurately represented in federal broadband records.
As part of this effort, we are reviewing locations that may be incorrectly classified in federal mapping data. Accurate information helps ensure that eligible properties are included in broadband expansion plans and that federal funding is directed where it is needed most.
Property Assessments
To support this work, NEKCV field scouts may conduct exterior assessments of select properties within our service area.
During these visits, scouts verify whether structures meet the criteria to be considered eligible service locations for broadband planning and funding purposes. Assessments are conducted from outside the property only. Scouts will not enter homes, buildings, or private areas without permission.
The information collected helps improve the accuracy of broadband maps, supports infrastructure planning, and ensures that broadband service can be deployed as efficiently as possible.
