NEKCV is launching a new initiative with funds we have received from the Vermont Community Broadband’s Affordable Drop program, the USDA ReConnect grant, and the USDA Community Connect grant.
Our initiative, the Zero-Cost Internet Install Program (ZIIP), will cover the cost of installing underground conduit or long aerial drops for customers who have not yet been able to access our fiber internet service due to those expenses. We will prioritize lower income customers under 400% of the federal poverty level and those who have service available but have not connected because of the high cost of conduit or long aerial drops. However, the program is meant for all annual household income levels below $750,000.
Outside of the priority groups listed above, conduit or long aerial drop installations will be completed on a first-come, first-served basis.
This Zero-Cost Internet Installation Program is time-sensitive, as funds must be used by September 2026. If you are interested, please sign up now to secure your place in the queue.
Assessing Your Situation
All installations begin with a scouting of your property. If an aerial installation to your home is not possible, a technician from NEKCV will assess whether any existing conduit can be used to install the fiber-optic line. If the conduit cannot be used, customers may apply to the ZIIP to have underground conduit, a long aerial drop, or both installed.
To help us efficiently plan construction once the ground thaws, interested customers will be added to the installation queue after completing the ZIIP application process. This process begins by pre-registering for service and completing the form below.
If you are not already pre-registered, please visit get.nekbroadband.org to search your address and get registered. Then complete the form below.
